Happenings

For as long as Willa has had her bed she has always been trying to coax the dogs to sleep with her.  They would usually oblige for about 5 minutes and then they would get up and go about their evening.  But lately her bed has been the hot spot in the house  Both dogs have been napping in there and Bosco has been getting in bed with her at night.  He usually ends up on his bean bag at some point but she is loving it.  B has found Belle in there several times in the morning.

Part of the reason for this new switch apparently is she takes a cup of food back to her room to bribe them for hanging out with her.  She also shuts her door.

Today is the first day I have seen snow since being in Missouri.  Willa is pretty disappointed by that. She would like to build a snowman, thank you very much.

My sewing machine has been getting a workout as I try to finish up some Christmas presents and Christmas bags.  I feel so behind on my gifts but really I think we are in pretty good shape.  Our gift exchange gifts and some stocking stuffers are mostly whats left.

I went to my first Block of the Month meeting yesterday.  I have been in the quilt shop a couple of times and couldn't figure out how the lady remembered my name each time.  After getting to the meeting it was a little apparent how....I was the youngest person there by at least 20 years. I sort of stuck out like a sore thumb.  But it was neat and the ladies were friendly.  Hopefully I will learn a lot about quilting and get some good ideas.

More changes in the Moylan world starting tomorrow and hopefully these will be more permanent if all works out.  I am being vague for a reason, but hopefully soon I can share. It's bittersweet in a way but I think mostly for the best.

Use it Up Challenge

I have seen several of these challenges floating around the blog world.  I even did one as I was backing up the MT house to move,  but I have noticed some half empty bottles of things, samples laying around and decided it was time to do another one.  I was trying to use this philosophy with my fabric stash, not buying anything unless I had a specific project for it or if it would help in using up what I had.  Then some people bought me 24 yards of fabric and 50 fat quarters and it was like Christmas.  I am still trying to use things up but now there is more choice.  I still need to use things up and finish some projects and this will hopefully keep me on track.  I got started last night and think it may extend to the pantry, there are some things in there we just need to either eat or get rid of.

Kind of goes along with the decluttering in a different way I think.

Rounding out the month

I have been thankful these last four days and have slacked on putting them up but I need to finish what I have started.

I am thankful for opportunities that present themselves at moments when we least expect them.
I am thankful for more family time and fun walks in the woods and getting to enjoy family traditions.
I am thankful for good movie theaters where you can salt and butter your own popcorn and sharing fun movies with Willa. (Is it sad I kind of want the soundtrack for Frozen?)
I am thankful for relaxing morning where I can shop online and wait for football.

I am not sure how people blog everyday....

Day 25 & Day 26: My Bad

I am thankful for warm quilts and blankets as the weather gets colder.  I am always cold but now that we don't have a fenced yard and have to eagle eye the dogs when they go out I am freezing by the time they are done.  But our plethora of blankets help that.

I am thankful for good blogs and message boards.  I follow several and it seems lately the message have really spoken to me.  I feel like I have been all over the board mentally and emotionally trying to figure out this crazy thing called life and they have helped. Or made it worse, it's a crapshoot I guess.

Day 23 & 24: I really thought I was caught up

I am thankful for travelling Montana friends that stopped by to see us. It was fun to catch up.

I an thankful for annoying Chargers fans that stood behind me that taught me restraint and that biting my tongue is taking the high road.

In other news I burned my tongue on hot chocolate on the way to the game because B hit the gas just as I was taking a drink.  Should have been a sign.

Day 22: Montana

I am thankful for our opportunity to live in Montana. Despite tge cold, the distance from things I loved it there. We put down roots,  made great friends (though many left, we met them there), my co-workers & clients were great.  I also know there were many other places we could have been stationed that I would not have enjoyed at all.

Day 21: Missouri

I am thankful Missouri is next to Kansas & that we had the opportunity to move here.

Thursday, November 21, 2013

Day 20: Choice

I am so thankful that I live in a country, a time, and have the financial circumstances to have a choice in many things. I know things don't always seem the greatest but we are in a much better place than most people.  I try to constantly remind myself of that and keep that in perspective when things are going on.

Day 19: Games

I am on a day late trend here.  I am thankful for our game routine each night. We play before bedtime and we are certainly working on good sportsmanship. Our favorites have been candyland, guess who?, memory match and a few others. I don't always want to play but I know we are making memories.

Tuesday, November 19, 2013

Day 18: Combines

Yes, combines. I choose to be thankful for them despite being in a 3 mile caravan behind 3 of them when I am low on gas & trying to get to tumbling. Combines have certainly improved harvesting the food we eat & the food our food eats. I like to eat!

Monday, November 18, 2013

Day 17: The Chiefs

Despite their defeat last night and my being a day late, I am thankful for the KC Chiefs. I enjoy that teams can bring people together to cheer and show support. Sometimes I don't understand things but I do enjoy a good game.  It has been nice this year having something to cheer for.  We are once again hopeful in the Moylan household.

Saturday, November 16, 2013

Day 16: The Wildcats

Kansas State has given me so many memories. FFA convention, games, great friends and ecen some classes. Can't beat that!

Friday, November 15, 2013

Day 15: My contact

Today I am thankful for my lone left eye contact. I only wear the one & makes it so much easier to drive.  I forgot to put it in today before I left for Kansas & man am I regretting it. Its time for a new eye appointment.

Day 14: My friends

I have some great friends all over the country and I get to see a few of them this weekend. But good friends can be hard to find so unfortunately for them I practically verbally throw up all over them when I see them.

Wednesday, November 13, 2013

Day 13: Utilities

After seeing several facebook statuses thus week of people's hot water heaters & furnaces conking out I am extremely thankful for a warm house and hot showers. I know others aren't as fortunate even on the best of days.

Day 12: The Library

I wrote this post in my head but then forgot to put it up.  I have so enjoyed our library here in Warrensburg.  We did story time several weeks in the summer and have enjoyed going to the craft times once a month.  I also enjoy reserving the books I want and then just being able to run in and grab them without having to hunt them down in the library.  The ladies have been so nice to us too.  The library is like its own little community.

Monday, November 11, 2013

Day 11: Veterans

Pretty easy to be thankful today for all the people that have protected this country each and every day and probably even before the USA existed.  Words will never do it justice.

Sunday, November 10, 2013

Day 10: My sewing machine

While I am not a very good sewer or a very patient person, I certainly enjoy sewing projects and learning new things. I know stuff takes practice and I have been trying to get better.  I got some things done and a few things started today and it was a lot of fun.

Saturday, November 9, 2013

Day 9: my family

I am very thankful for my parents, sister,  brother and new in-laws. Its so nice to have support, ears, muscles & helpful hands. Its even nicer when they are less than 2 hours away.

Friday, November 8, 2013

Day 8: Good food

I went grocery shopping today & as I walked the aisles I couldn't help but be thankful for our freezer full of meat & our cabinets of canned goods. I can certainly tell a difference in the foods we have been eating. We went out to eat with some friends last night & I had some fries and I just felt like junk afterwards. So I am glad we have access & resources to have good food.

Thursday, November 7, 2013

Day 7: Books

I have been a lover of books since forever. I get lost in them, blocking out most everything. It helps slow down the hamster in my brain so I can relax.  I love series, I never want them to end. I also have a compulsion that usually ends up with a finished book at 3 am. I really can't help myself. I sure hope I can pass this love on to Willa. So far so good.

Wednesday, November 6, 2013

Day 6: B

He too drives me crazy...but I am still thankful. He is supportive of whatever I want to do (except maybe some craft projects) and is always happy to go on an adventure. He has helped me learn to be more spontaneous, step out of my comfort box and to have patience.

Tuesday, November 5, 2013

Day 5: Bosco & Belle

Our dogs drive me crazy sometimes but they do bring us joy. They are so good with Willa and have kept me company many nights.  Bosco is the best snuggler and Belle is always right there so she knows what is going on.  The Pook and Nosy are really a girls best friend.

Monday, November 4, 2013

Day 4: The little Chickie...won't let me post but just know she rocks!

Ah, it finally lets me type...Willa does rock. She makes us laugh everday, amazes us with her wit and brains. She knows no stranger and is truly a compassionate young lady. She just makes my days.

Sunday, November 3, 2013

Day 3

Today I am thankful for transportation.  We have been able to travel to so many different places and see many things and without planes, trains, and automobiles it wouldn't be possible.

Saturday, November 2, 2013

Day 2: A Fun Family Gathering

In continuation with our wedding yesterday it was so much to see all our family and friends and all the laughing.  Throw in a photobooth and hilariousness will ensue.  I can't wait to see all the pictures from the photographers and all the costumes.

Day 1 a Day Late

I have good reason for being a day late on Day 1.  My little sister got married and since it was her day I will start off the month being thankful for her and all the things she has done for me.  She is such a kind-hearted person.

Slowing Down

After 5 weeks at my bank job, I quit.  It was something that had been on my mind after the first painful week of sitting around with not much to do, and also why I should have trusted my gut before accepting the job.  In the long run I think it will be for the best.  It's hard to explain, but the best way is it just wasn't the right fit.  I realized quickly it wasn't accounting enough for me and after having awesome flexibility at JCCS, being confined to banking structure was really hard.  The best part was realizing all these things and knowing then what I was looking for.

Also after being home for the summer and getting into some routines I also realized how content I am to slow down. Its really been an interesting journey so far.

I did however have something lined up before I quit and I am really excited about it. I am really hoping it works out how we are envisioning it and will be the start of many good things to come.

This week we are gearing up for my sister's wedding and another round of cake baking.  A little colder for this wedding than the last but I am sure we will be fine!

Go Wildcats!!!!

October-ness

I am slacking in the posting department but that is mostly because I have been doing some pondering as of late.  My new job isn't quite working out like I had hoped and its hard deciding what to do about it.  On the bright side, it has made me consider what I want out of my work, the type of environment, the people, the flexibility and just some good realization of how I want to live out my life.  I think I will be stepping outside my comfort box, but am hopeful it will be a good step.  A shout out to JP for being an awesome shoulder and sounding board.

Willa has been loving her new school more than ever as of late.  They have taken some fun field trips as of late and now they go to a gymnastics center every other week on top of her weekly class so she is in heaven.  Her sign language skills are also expanding.  Her and B seem to add to it everyday and she loves spelling words.

Fall is finally here and it is my favorite season of all.  I do love my sweaters.  I have already decided to Thankful November again on this blog in hopes it will jump start my posting again.

September Flies

We are just cruising right along through the month of September and just having a little blast.  The weather has been extremely warm and poor B is still training.  He is also recovering from a horrible sinus infection so he complains his runs aren't up to snuff.

Willa has been having a ball doing all kinds of fun things.  Her preschool has been going to a gymnastics center, she went to the local Air Show, Powell Gardens and the Circus.  Does it get any better for kicking off her birthday month.

Her party is the weekend after birthday week and I am glutton for punishment since I am also hosting my sister's bridal shower the following day.

I helped out B's cousin at his first BBQ cook off and it was a lot of fun but exhausting.  I slept half the day today and am already ready to go to bed tonight.

Also for the last few weeks I have been interviewing for a new job.  I had initially applied for a different position but they felt I was better suited for a job they were getting ready to post.  After meeting with 4 people and waiting a week, I was selected as their new Mortgage Lending Officer.  Talk about taking a new road down a career path.  My accounting background will be quite helpful and I am very hopeful that this will work out for everyone.  I am a little sad to be giving up my days at home,  but excited to try something new.

Holy Jeeze!

I really didn't mean to almost completely skip August in my blogging, but alas I pretty much have.  We have stayed busy but there have been some lulls of just loungey-ness going on.

Willa started at a new preschool 3 days a week.  I know they stay busy there because she usually naps in the afternoon.  But I am totally loving it.  The info sheets we get everyday just make my shy self so happy.  It gives all the information that I would normally ask about or wonder at out old school.  I did adore the Great Falls Center and I hope as time goes by we will get to know the ladies here just like we did there.  We did have one day of unhappiness with some little boys being not very nice, but she has since got over that.

I spent a weekend in Arkansas with my favorite college roomies.  We went canoeing, to a minor league game, played tons of pitch, did some shopping, tried different beers, and toured "Matt's Park."  A completely successful weekend that was topped off by finding the Minion blimp.

I also picked blackberries for the first time with my Grandma Jo, Mom, Sis-in-law and Willa.  Totally fun and we just keep adding things we want to Mimi and Poppy's garden.  I feel like we are bound and determined to can our way through the year.  I keep waiting for the fun add-ons from Bountiful Baskets to do some more fun canning.

I know there is much  more we have done over the last few weeks but these were some of the highlights for sure.

Fair Week and more peaches

Another busy week around these parts.  Willa and I bought another case of peaches and we let them ripen up on the kitchen table a few days.  On Monday they were ready to go so we packed up and headed to Grandma Jo's on Tuesday.  We made a pie filling type of concoction that we have liked on ice cream and yogurt.  It is also fair week so we have spent some time at the fairgrounds.

I have been helping out a gal that is expanding her restaurant into mobile vending as well.  So now I can add some food service to my repertoire of skills.

Willa made her pig showing debut and it was a combo of comical and tragedy.  They were a few too many people and too many pigs for her liking.  She kept trying to keep up with her pig but was not real happy when other pigs got in her way.  She thought they were "Wild Pigs."  Her Baby Q was socializing a little too much and wasn't keeping up to well. :)  She was more nervous than I thought she would be but there was a lot of people so that is to be expected.

We have Chiefs Cheerleading Camp this weekend and if she likes it as much as her tumbling class she will have a blast.

Finding our way

We have been racking up the miles along Highway 50 it seems and it confirms to me that driving it not my favorite thing to do in this world.  But we are starting to figure out keeping the car stocked of fun things for Willa and packing gets easier.

As I have been figuring out the best way to organize our rental, I had some little storage bins that Willa had used in her old bedroom.  We have many duplicates of coloring books, crayons, flashcards, stickers, and other little things so I took two of the buckets and filled them with those things and put one in each vehicle.  We no longer have to round up a bag each time we get in the car.  Seems so simple and yet took me so long to figure out.

This weekend just Willa and I went to KS to piddle around and we ended up canning more beets at Grandma Jo's and then on Sunday I got some sewing time in with Aunt Marcy and my cousin Stephannie while the little girls got to play.  We made them little dresses and Aunty Marcy helped us with our sewing machines and gave us plenty of fabric to keep playing around with.

Willa loves her new tumbling class and so do I!  Her favorite is the trampoline and the tumbling track.  I think she would go to a class everyday if we would let her.  I discovered they also have a little preschool dance class so we may investigate if that will work for her too.  I met some other moms there and one that I have a lot in common with.  She has been filling me in on the activities and things around here.

We keep trying to find our routine and groove around here, but a lot of days we just like to veg out and for now I am ok with that.

The Best Laid Plans

I had really intended on blogging more in June but when we would come to KS for the weekends we just didn't spend much time on the Interwebz.  Or I would think of something to blog about during the week and never get around to typing it out.

But since this is the long weekend I figured I should do some catching up.

The Glow Run 5k
The whole Fam participated and I actually ran most of it.  B has sort of sucked me into this whole running thing and I have been trying to get out in the evenings to run a few miles.  Except I am a baby and its very hot and our road is very hilly.  But Baby Q was going to run with me for this and I thought that would keep me motivated and it did help except he left me in the dust.  My goal for July is 20 miles. I have 2 so far....

The all night Royals game

We planned on going to the game on the 3rd and it was beautiful all day....until we were about 2 miles from the stadium when it downpoured for 2.5 hours.  Game started at 9:45.  We did however extend our streak of watching a ball game on the 4th and the following fireworks.  7 years and going.

Canning
I am learning the ways of Grandma Jo and assisted her and my mom in canning some beets.  I do not eat beets but it is kind of fun.  I was able to order a bountiful basket this week and we ordered 75 lbs of peaches, 20 lbs of grapes, 15 loaves of bread and 3 baskets.  I canned my peaches and got 35 pints.  I am however, no where near fast enough at peeling.

Willa and I have been organizing our weeks a little more.   We go to the library, get groceries, make our meal plans and lists.  This week she will start a preschool tumbling class and I hope it means we will start meeting some new friends.  The library moms must not think we are cool yet, though one did say we looked just alike.  We have been having fun doing her library bingo and reading for Papa Murphy's cookie dough.

Recouped

The crazy weeks have finally ended.  We got the kiddos married, the cake was made, and we moved into our new rental.  My feet finally stopped aching on Wednesday.  Willa and I practically chilled for a few days watching movies and sleeping in.  It has been a little nuts getting to sleep in and my body woke up at a more reasonable waking hour this morning.

In other news, our 10 year class reunion is tomorrow and we are pretty curious to who will come.  Had we not moved to MO in the last few weeks we wouldn't have been able to attend,  but we drove back to KS this afternoon to go.  But this housecat is ready for a few weekends of no events, but alas, I think we have a few more weekends of things going on.  Mostly running events, but probably a few other things will get thrown in.

Whewwwww!

What a crazy couple of weeks of weeks that went flying by.  I didn't get everything done and I know I will continue to impose upon my friends in Great Falls, but we made it to the Midwest.  I regret not taking a few days off before the move but not sure how I would have fit that in.  As it was I was still carrying things out of my office on Friday.

Friday was an extremely tough day.  I sat at my desk debating just sneaking out and avoiding everyone or staying there all day.  Thankfully,  some people weren't around and goodbyes were said earlier or later.

Saturday was nuts, trying to get the U-boxes situated and the right truck to pull them and people to help.  Thankfully, I have some awesome friends that stepped up at the last minute and there was no way we would have got it all done without them.  Q and I did some last minute cleaning/touch up stuff and then we hit the road to get to Billings the first night.  Sadly, Willa is not over her car sickness phase yet.

Sunday we made it to Rapid City and we found some Drammamine for Willa and did the quick 4 hour tour of Reptile Gardens, Bear Country USA and Mount Rushmore.  Then it was back on the road until Sioux Falls.  We rolled into Gardner, KS around 2:30 on Monday, dropped off Q and then headed on over to Knob Noster.  Luckily, no more car sickness.  It was so nice to see B and get out of the car for awhile.

Tuesday, Willa and I cleaned the duplex we are staying in for the next few weeks, because well, I don't think it had been done in a while.  That night we found a new place to rent until we either sell the house in Great Falls or get it rented.  It is a nice place out in the country but I am pretty sure we are also going to have to find a storage unit.

On Thursday we drove to KC to see our bestie Jenny P. since she was flying in to watch her bro graduate from KSU.  We had TRex Cafe with her and her mom, then  headed down to good ole' Parker, KS.  Car sickness came back today sadly.

The next few weeks will continue to be busy since its Memorial Day, Q and Kayliegh's wedding and then our 10 year class reunion, and you know, moving into a new place, and the job hunt.  I am tired already.

Unreal

It seems like of was just yesterday that B was calling to say we were moving to Missouri, so it makes it hard to believe that I only have about 12 days left in MT. I have started packing my office and it has to be baby steps because we aren't ready for it.  I have a lot of lunch dates for the next 2 weeks and I am trying to hit all my favorites.

Willa and I pretty much were bums all weekend reading books, watching movies, working in her workbooks.  She has really progressed in her counting and writing her numbers.  I had a funny realization the other day when I asked her why she always writes the A first in her name.....because A comes first in zoophonics. Duh, mom!

I finished my training for Bountiful Baskets so hopefully I will be able to open a new site once we get settled.  I was able to order our favorite bread today so hopefully it will get us through for awhile.

We just keep plugging along.

Murphy

Murphy and I have become good friends this week, but so far I am mostly winning.  Electrical outlets, and running new power for the microwave is complete.  What I wasn't counting on was the motherboard to our furnace fritzing out.  Of course it happened the week of our open house.  Thankfully, we have an awesome fireplace and some space heaters I grabbed from the office.  If it would just quit snowing it wouldn't be an issue.

I learned something grocery shopping yesterday.  Willa is getting so tall that I can't see around her when she is sitting in the front of the cart.  She also crashed in the car today on our way to PETCO. I carried her in and while she isn't heavy she is way too long for me to carry comfortably while trying to shop.

I was asked to stick around an extra week at the office to work on one more audit.  Funnily, we are now back to the original week I planned on leaving since I figured I would work on that one.  We moved it when there was an offer on the house but since that fell through it seems to be working out.  It will eventually, but I am sure the uhaul people will be glad when I quit changing it.

Blah

Riding the rollercoaster of selling our home sucks.  Just when I thought all was going to work out better than expected, the wind is knocked from sails.  Wallowing is pity tonight and then back to better moods tomorrow is the plan.

Life goes on and we adapt.

Changes

What a crazy weekend.  We loaded up a U-haul, had a couple of showings, did some more repairs and sent B and the dogs on their way.  It was pretty weird after they left.  The house had a sort of empty feel.  I am pretty used to B being gone at this point but not having the dogs here is just weird.

Willa I think enjoyed her Easter.  We put change in her plastic eggs and she was just excited to feed her pig.  When I put her to bed on Sunday night she told me she was going to stay in bed so the Easter Bunny would leave her more money.  She was disappointed to learn Easter was over.

B spent today driving.  First arriving in Kansas and then heading over to our new stomping grounds to find us some shelter.  It seems like that is under control for the moment and hopefully the little nibble we have on the GTF house will decide to take a big bite.  Really though, I hope their house sells so that they can and then everyone will be happy.

We also found out a neighbor wants to buy things out of our house.  I told the realtor to send her down, that I had some items that were a no go but could negotiate on the rest.

Willa and I are rocking a rental car this week.  It's a 2013 Malibu which despite just being the newer version of my car, feels like a boat.  It's loaded and shiny and new and has a remote start.  Not going to lie, I have always wanted a remote start.

So week 2 of spotless house continues....

The Week In Review

So as we frantically finished cleaning, purging and packing, Sunday was our open house.  We didn't even have our shoes on before the first people arrived.  So we spent the next couple of hours at the bounce house place, the park and getting groceries.  Pretty good feedback, but no takers.

We had more showings during the week including a repeat, plus some other interest, so we are hopeful there will be some activity soon.  The bright side of being transferred at this time is it is a good time to be selling a house.

I learned a valuable lesson in closing cabinet doors at work this week.  I was on the phone with our lawyer getting a power of attorney taken care of and I was reaching for something out of the cabinet.  Talked to her a few more minutes and hopped up to scan something.  Cracked my head right into the handle of the door.  My work spouse said it was so loud she thought the cabinet fell.  Needless to say, its sore and I felt like a dork.

Murphy's Law has also been hard at work around this house.  It feels like it is revolting against being sold.  So we deal, one day, one dollar at a time.

Easter Party at School was yesterday.  I missed the  hunt but B said Willa was only interested for a couple of minutes before she was done having to pick up eggs.  She still had plenty of sugary goodies so she was happy.  We have been enjoying the day off from work and school today.  Slept in (kinda, I got up to deal with a Murphy happening), getting groceries, and eating fake cupcakes have topped it off.

Weekend will be a busy one as we have to pick Poppy up from the airport, load the U-haul and send off the first round of the move to Missouri.  Our realtor has already said, since we will be busy and he will be out of town we will probably have a lot of calls to show the house.  Fingers crossed one will be "the One."

Happy Easter All!

Happenings

After the Montana wind finally destroyed our poor gate a few weekends ago, it was fixed on Friday.  It ended up being quite the undertaking to find someone that could get to it quickly.  Don't get me wrong, I am very happy things are picking up for these handymen, but dang, I just needed the gate fixed.  Handyman B was able to handle replacing some of the posts that needed fixing so now all our gate issues are complete.

Painting has been going well until one runs out of paint and then the temperature drops.  Once the remaining half of my room gets painted we will be in business.  Hopefully the house will get on the market this week and we get a big bite.  It will be a big relief knowing it is going to sell and we can begin to look in MO.

Willa has been a trooper as I have boxed up the house around her or sold things.  Other than a few toys and a pair of sweatpants that she flipped out about, it has gone well.  I have sold almost $300 worth of stuff and donated a ton.  So glad I started the decluttering awhile back and wish had done more.  It sucks to think how much we have spent on some things that have gone back out the door.  I also know we will be able to purge some more things even after we get there because I know on at least one day when I was on a packing spree I was more packing thoughtlessly than purging.

Haven't quite figured out what the best move plan is yet because...well my depth perception sucks, so I really don't know how much stuff we have, plus all the furniture and washer and dryer.  Once we get the garage situated though, I hope we have a better handle on it.

Willa has been a hoot lately.  Having her dad back home means she has stepped up her funny game.  Get those two on a roll and they just think they are a little duo of funny.  And the poor dogs are always happy to get a break from the pestering.  Bosco learned last night that having a girl owner means you get to dress up to play wedding even when you are a boy dog.  She got a balloon at a birthday party and that was his main accessory.

We have been staying pretty busy just trying to get things situated and figured out.  It still seems like everything is happening in such a blur.

A Monday Funny

This is an old story, but B and I remembered it last night (That's right, this go-round of solo-parenting is OVER)!

Anyway, we were laying in bed trying to decide what movie to watch and I rattled off all the movies that I have migrated to the dresser so I can fall asleep.  The Potters, all the Marvel movies, Gone With the Wind, The Devil Wears Prada and several Disney ones that Willa has......B asked me if I was sure about the Devil Wears Prada.....

You see, several months ago when we still had Starz or something premium, I was getting ready for bed and planned on reading awhile.  I don't do quiet well, so I was looking for something for background noise.  Cruising along, I see the The Devil Wears Prada is on and hit select.  I am reading my book minding my own business when I start hearing things that I know are definitely not from The Devil Wears Prada.  I was totally confused until I hit Info and realized I had selected The Devil Wears NADA!!!

We laughed for days and obviously are still laughing.

Hope everyone has a Great Week.

Limbo Land

Life as we know it is always changing. Change is something I typically do not do well though I have come a long way. The last few weeks have been an emotional rollercoaster of change as MoylanMayhem has taken a whole new meaning.

We are packing up and leaving the only life we have known as a married couple. B is taking a job with the Missouri ANG very, very soon. Like, he isn’t even back from his TDY and will be leaving shortly after his return. Which means, I am the one that is really packing up and able to get things done.

I teeter between excited about the move and completely bummed and scared about leaving GTF. It is the only place we have lived in our adult lives and we have had so many milestones and events happen while we have been here. I am extremely sad about leaving behind my co-workers and a lot of my clients. Some I have been auditing for the entire 7 years and some I practically move into their offices for awhile and will truly miss seeing them every year.

Plus, selling the house!! Eek! I can tell it is already going to be an experience I am not going to enjoy. It already has me stressed and we haven’t even listed it yet.

I will also go on record and say it is really hard to plan your last days at an office when you don’t know when the last day is. It feels so weird saying this will be my last tax party, last out of town audit, last time eating at a favorite Mexican place at said audit, last, last, last….

Ultimately, I think this is a good move for our family, but at the same time I am clinging to all that I have ever known. I am scared to job hunt, house hunt, pick a new town to live in, make new friends and having to fill up with gas more than once a month.

Funnily, I can bounce from one emotion and back in a matter of minutes during the day, so that is not helping the fact that all of this is happening. It is however helping me purge things from our home without much regret. Oy Vey! On the plus side, I am actually figuring out the things we use most often and a lot of the things I am packing we could probably live without anyway.

But as they say, life goes on, and we have to adapt to overcome. All in due time I say.

A Whole Lot of Nothing

B informed me tonight that my blog was sucking as of late. I agreed. I have had several blog posts rumbling in my head, each more exciting g than the last. They have included; our yogurt journey, strawberries, grandparents and much more.  Some of those things I can't share yet, but I am guessing my posting will pick up soon.

I have mostly tried to keep the fact I am solo parenting yet again off Facebook, but since I have so few readers I can probably "speak" freely here. We are on week 3 of the latest TDY and it has probably been the hardest yet.  Mostly because we really miss B and partly because Willa is in the most awesome phase of fighting bedtime. Seriously, it is the best.

Can't remember if I mentioned that I am not doing tax returns this year. Kind of a new thing for our office since mostly everyone does both tax and audits. Typically, everyone has a chosen path but still dabbles on the other side. So far, it has been about the same as last year, except no Saturdays!

The board I am on hosted their annual fundraiser on Saturday and it was the first time I was on the otherwise of such a big event.  I had a vision in my head how I thought my night would go and how perfect and smooth it would be.  No major hiccups but I barely got to wolf down my chocolate pasta and fought technology and small screened laptops most of the evening.  Still, it was a success and I enjoyed being apart of it.

More to come as I catch up.

Oh my, Oh my, Oh my

Who loves a good procrastination effort? I guess this girl because I am trying to finish up some quilting projects this weekend.  Why I don't know since one shower is tomorrow and one baby is being born on Tuesday. It's not like they will arrive in time anyway.  Nonetheless, one is completed and I have decided to wait for the one baby to be born and find out the gender in case I want to swap out a color.  So I might finish the rag blanket in its place.  I did bring home audit work to do and should really work on that tomorrow.

We had some little girlies over for a play date this morning. Oh what fun was had.  I hope to try and be more regular on the play dates since it helps keep us from completely bumming around d on the weekends.

How about them Cats! 4-0 in conference play!
Please excuse all typos for the next 45ish days. I am back to only having the tablet.

Wildcat Love

Typically I am a believer in only saying good things about your favorite teams and not bad mouthing others.  However, I have made an exception now that Willa says Ew KU, they're yucky.  It's pretty comical coming from a 3 year old.  She walked by the Squawk Store in the mall in KC and promptly yelled it.  All this while decked in purple.  We didn't teach her this either.  Her loving aunt did in response to her Great-Uncle's love for the blue and red.  She also rocks her Wildcat hand signals like a champ.
